When does my eSIM plan start?

Installing the eSIM adds the profile to your device. For most travel plans, the plan validity starts only when the eSIM first connects to a supported local network.

Some plans can start immediately after installation or purchase. Always review the plan details before buying and before installing.

Install before departure while you have Wi-Fi. Keep the eSIM off for mobile data until you reach the destination unless the plan instructions say otherwise.

At destination, select the eSIM for mobile data, enable roaming, and wait a few minutes for the local network to register.
