How to install an eSIM on iPhone
Step-by-step iPhone setup using QR code or manual details, including data line and roaming settings.
Before you start
Connect your iPhone to stable Wi-Fi and keep your eSIM QR code or manual installation details open on another device if possible.
Do not delete an installed eSIM unless support asks you to. Many eSIM profiles cannot be installed again after deletion.
Install with QR code
Open Settings, go to Cellular or Mobile Data, tap Add eSIM, then choose Use QR Code. Scan the QR code and follow the on-screen prompts.
Give the line a clear label such as eSIMer Travel. Keep your primary line for calls if you still need your regular number.
Set mobile data
When you arrive at your destination, select the eSIMer line for mobile data. Turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM line.
If the eSIM does not connect after a few minutes, toggle airplane mode, restart the phone, and check whether a specific APN is shown in the plan details.
