How to check if your phone supports eSIM

Check eSIM compatibility, carrier lock status, and model-specific limits before buying a travel eSIM.

Check the device model

Open your device settings and confirm the exact model name. Some phones with the same marketing name can have different eSIM support depending on region or carrier.

On iPhone, look for Add eSIM in Cellular settings. On Android, look for SIM Manager, eSIM, or Download a SIM in network settings.

Check carrier lock status

Your device must be carrier-unlocked. If it is locked to one mobile operator, it may reject travel eSIM profiles even when the hardware supports eSIM.

If you are unsure, contact your original carrier and ask whether the device is unlocked for international eSIM usage.
